New Zealand Breakers star point guard William McDowell-White is set to be a hot property in free agency.

According to Newscorp, the out of contract Australian has "emerged as a target for multiple clubs, including Perth, Brisbane and South East Melbourne".

McDowell-White has played a crucial role in guiding the Breakers to the Championship Series. He has averaged 10.5 points, 6.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds this season, while making a strong contribution on the defensive end.

The 24-year-old has already been named by the Bullets as the type of player they’re targeting in the off-season.

"Will McDowell-White is about to go in a Playoff run, someone of that ilk would be looking great in a Bullets uniform," Brisbane coach Justin Schueller said.

"His ability to pick the game apart with the use of the ball screen has separated him from everyone else.

"He’s the model of player that we’re trying to recruit."

McDowell-White will lead the Breakers in Game 1 of the best-of-five Championship Series against the Sydney Kings on Friday night at Qudos Bank Arena at 7:30pm AEDT.

The game will be broadcast live and free on ESPN via Kayo Freebies, 10 Peach, 10 play, and Sky Sport in NZ.
