McCall, Magnay sanctioned

The GRP has completed its review from Thursday night's Cairns Taipans v Tasmania JackJumpers game.

The Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League advises the Game Review Panel (GRP) has handed down the following sanctions to Cairns Taipans player Tahjere McCall and Tasmania JackJumpers player Will Magnay following Thursday night’s Cairns v Tasmania game.

McCall was charged with unduly rough play during the game. The panel deemed the incident as careless, medium impact and low contact.

The penalty for this classification is a $1165 fine, reduced to $775 with an early guilty plea.

The Taipans can either accept the early guilty plea or appeal the GRP’s decision.

Magnay was charged with unduly rough play during the game. The panel deemed the incident as intentional, medium impact and low contact.

The penalty for this classification is a one-game suspension, reduced to a $1550 fine with an early guilty plea.

The JackJumpers can either accept the early guilty plea or appeal the GRP’s decision.
