NBL legend Andrew Gaze has applauded Sydney’s consistency this year despite having to replace an NBA import trio who aided in last year’s championship win.

With a new team this season, the Kings have mirrored last year’s success, with the chance to claim the trophy for the second season in a row.

Seven-time NBL MVP Gaze has shown praise to the Kings for matching their energy from last season.

“The Kings have been exceptional – and it’s virtually with a new team….to go from the three imports they had last year and still be so consistent is a great effort,” Gaze told Newscorp.

Last season’s imports, Jaylen Adams, Jarell Martin, and Ian Clark, exited the club with current imports Derrick Walton Jr, Justin Simon and Tim Soares stepping up for the Kings.

Gaze acknowledged the coaching style head coach Chase Buford has implemented has helped Sydney continue its winning ways.

“It speaks volumes to the systems that have been put in place and the way in which you can mould your system to the strengths of the players you have at your disposal,” Gaze said.
