Sydney Kings coach Mahmoud Abdelfattah provides an update on injured star DJ Hogg.

Sydney Kings coach Mahmoud Abdelfattah is hopeful star forward DJ Hogg will return from injury next week.

Hogg missed Thursday night’s 101-85 loss to Melbourne United due to a shoulder injury, with a timeline on his return unknown at this stage.

Speaking after the United clash, Abdelfattah held out hope Hogg could be back for the Round 15 double-header.

“Hopefully he will be back next week, but we will see,” Abdelfattah said.

“The doctors are looking at it, I think he is going to see somebody else. Who knows, hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later, but I have no clue.”

Hogg is averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 blocks this season.

Sydney faces the Brisbane Bullets on Sunday at 4pm AEDT, live on ESPN via Kayo Freebies, 10 Peach and 10 Play.
