Kings’ “close eye” on Froling

Kings’ “close eye” on Froling

Tuesday, February 4, 2025

"We obviously like to monitor all major free agent movement."

Sydney Kings CEO Chris Pongrass has revealed the club will keep a “close eye” on star Illawarra Hawks free agent Sam Froling.

“We obviously like to monitor all major free agent movement, but will of course keep a close eye on what happens with Sam in Wollongong and if there’s a desire to look elsewhere. He’s an exceptional player,” Pongrass told Newscorp.

The out-of-contract Froling is set to be one of the hottest properties on the market. He is averaging 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds this season, as the Hawks fly towards a top of the ladder finish.

Last week, ESPN reported Froling and the Hawks “remain in good faith talks with regard to a potential extension”.

Illawarra faces the New Zealand Breakers on Wednesday night at 5:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
