Craig Sword has signed a one-year deal with the Tasmania JackJumpers.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have secured their third and final import signing for the NBL25 season with the acquisition of former NBA guard Craig Sword.

Sword, 30, played three games for the Washington Wizards in the 2021-22 season, and was signed by the Indiana Pacers prior to spending last season with G-League side, the Indiana Mad Ants.

In 50 games he averaged 8.9 points on 67 per cent shooting and 42.6 per cent from three, with 1.2 steals per game.

The G-League journeyman has also played professionally in Venezuela, Mexico and Poland.

“We’re thrilled to bring Craig into the program. He’s a defensive-minded, dynamic wing who’s energetic and will bring some extra flair. I think fans will really enjoy watching him,” General Manager Basketball Operations, Mika Vukona said.

"Craig brings some incredible experience across a range of international programs. He’ll be a strong leader both on and off the floor, and we believe he’ll be a great asset to the group.

“We believe Craig will be a great fit with the JackJumpers culture and complement the consistent roster we have retained from last season."

Sword also represented the United States in the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers and the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup.

He is Tasmania's second new signing this free agency period, following Gorjok Gak's arrival from South East Melbourne.
