The wait to see star JackJumpers duo Clint Steindl and Will Magnay in NBL23 is over

The wait to see star JackJumpers duo Clint Steindl and Will Magnay in NBL23 is over, with the club announcing the pair are fit and ready to play this weekend.

Steindl has been sidelined with an ankle injury sustained while representing the Boomers in the off-season, while Magnay has been missing in action since the early stages of last season due to persistent knee complaints.

The news isn’t all good for Tasmania though – livewire guard Matt Kenyon is expected to miss up to six weeks with a calf injury, while Jarrad Weeks and Milton Doyle will be battling to regain fitness for next week’s clash with Melbourne United after suffering leg injuries of their own.

We gave Milton every chance to get up for the Breakers game after a minor tweak, but we think it’s safer to hold him back for this game and give him the extra week to get 100 per cent right,” JackJumpers Head Sports Physio Ryan Carroll said.

“It’s unfortunate for those guys, but these things happen at all levels of sport. We knew there were going to be challenges but we’ve got some of the best medical professionals at our disposal, so they’re in good hands” Associate Head Coach Jacob Chance said.

“It’ll be a good test in the depth of the group, but we’re confident any guy can step up at any moment.
