The Tasmania JackJumpers are “out for blood” as their Finals campaign begins tonight against the Cairns Taipans in the Seeding Qualifier.

The winner of the Seeding game will advance to Series 1 of the Playoffs against the New Zealand Breakers.

After making a fairy-tale run to the Grand Final last year, star big-man Will Magnay says the JackJumpers are looking to go one step further this season.

“We are out for blood and we’ll have a swing and we’ll see how we go,” Magnay told The Mercury.

“We’ll have to stay disciplined against them (Cairns) and can’t let them get going as their crowd can get rowdy when they get going and we don’t want that to happen.”

Magnay added the loss of floor general Josh Magette to a facial injury will force other players to step up and perform in his absence.

Tip-off between the JackJumpers and Taipans is 8:30pm AEDT tonight live on ESPN via Kayo Freebies.
