Former Illawarra Hawk Isaac White has been handed another opportunity ahead of NBL23.

Former Illawarra Hawk Isaac White has been handed another opportunity ahead of NBL23, with the 24-year-old guard confirmed as an injury-replacement player for the Tasmania JackJumpers.

White will replace JackJumpers captain Clint Steindl on the roster after the veteran suffered a left knee injury while playing for the Boomers at the recent FIBA Asia Cup.

A former NCAA player with Stanford University, White has formed a reputation as a solid shooting presence in his two seasons at the Hawks and connected on 40 per cent of his shots from the field, 33 per cent from three and 83 per cent from the free throw line last season.

JackJumpers head coach Scott Roth says the White’s shooting prowess is a major reason he’s been recruited to the club.

“White is an excellent shooter and will help fill that void while Clint recovers. We believe he can be a valuable offensive asset for us,” Roth said.

“He’s a fearless competitor [who] really embodies the JackJumpers’ grit and grind attitude. Isaac also brings playoff experience so we’re looking forward to welcoming him to the group.

White will begin formal pre-season training with the rest of Tasmania’s squad on August 15.
