Saturday, July 27, 2024
"His experience and skills on both ends of the court will be invaluable to us as we aim for success in the NBL25 season."
The Tasmania JackJumpers have added more championship quality to an already talented roster, signing Reuben Te Rangi on a one-year deal.
The former South East Melbourne Phoenix, Brisbane Bullets and New Zealand Breakers player provides valuable experience following the departure of Jack McVeigh to the Houston Rockets.
Te Rangi has won championships in 2013 and 2015 at the Breakers, was the NBL’s Best Sixth Man and Most Improved Player in 2019 and boast significant experience with New Zealand’s national team, the Tall Blacks.
He averaged 20 minutes a game for the Phoenix across NBL24, averaging 5.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 26 appearances.
“Reuben is an incredible addition to our team. His experience and skills on both ends of the court will be invaluable to us as we aim for success in the NBL25 season. We’re keen to see him bring his leadership and talent to Tasmania,” JackJumpers coach Scott Roth said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Reuben to the JackJumpers family. His impressive track record and versatility make him a perfect fit for our team. We believe his presence will add experience to our roster, and we look forward to what he will achieve with us this season,” Tasmania General Manager of Basketball Operations Mika Vukona added.
Te Rangi joins a squad which has retained nine of its championship stars, led by stars Milton Doyle, Jordon Crawford and Will Magnay.
