Tai Webster believes Friday's clash between Perth and Sydney will offer a great matchup of similar offensive styles.

Wildcats livewire Tai Webster has lauded the impending matchup between Perth and Sydney in Round 9, and believes the comparable game styles of the two high-flying teams will make for a strong sporting spectacle this weekend.

The Wildcats will host the Kings at RAC Arena in the midst of a five-game winning streak, while their opponents were left reeling by a fourth quarter comeback from Melbourne United in Round 8.

“It’s the biggest show in the city, isn’t it?” Webster told SEN WA about Friday night's impending clash. “I haven’t got to say much more than that.

“Sydney’s a great team and we’re playing some really good basketball right now and it’s going to be enjoyable, there’s going to be a lot of personalities out there on the court and it’s going to be a really tough game of basketball, for sure.

“We’ve both got really similar styles and it’s going to be interesting to see which one prevails.”

New coach Mahmoud Adbelfattah may have drastically shifted the defensive style of the Kings from his predecessor Chase Buford, but Sydney is just as dangerous an offensive prospect as they have been the past two seasons.

“They still play at the same ferocious pace they have for the last couple of years, they get up a lot of threes in transition and stuff like that, and they’re a lot like us,” Webster continued.

“They like to use their athleticism to get up and down the court.

“They’ve been playing that style for a while now, so it’s kind of much the same thing, btu they’re probably the best at it.

“They’re the defending champs and you don’t get to be the best until you beat the best, we’re definitely ready to play them and looking forward to that.”
