Injury Update: Pinder Hindered

Keanu Pinder is set to spend at least another week on the sidelines, as he continues to battle an ankle injury.

Pinder suffered a lateral ligament strain on his left ankle in Cairns’ December 23 game against Melbourne United, which led to Taipans coach Adam Forde questioning the treatment from his opponents.

The Taipans have been able to cover for the loss of their star man, winning four straight games without him, but will be sweating on his fitness leading into a likely finals campaign.

Pinder is one of the favourites for this season’s MVP, averaging 17.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.

Cairns hosts Illawarra on Friday night, before travelling to New Zealand for a big clash against the Breakers on Sunday.
