Adelaide 36ers star DJ Vasiljevic "may not play until the new year", after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The Adelaide 36ers have copped another significant blow to their championship aspirations, with DJ Vasiljevic succumbing to a hamstring injury.

Vasiljevic played on after he injured his hamstring in the first quarter of Sunday's game against Tasmania, with scan results later revealing a strain.

“After the scans we know what we are dealing with and we are erring on the side of caution,” 36ers' Head of Medical, Tristan Chai said.

“We will continue to monitor DJ’s rehabilitation, but he may not play until the new year.”

Adelaide will be without Vasiljevic, Montrezl Harrell and Kendric Davis in game one of their Round 11 double-header. The 36ers play the Bullets on Friday night at 7:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN.
