Mitch Creek is likely to be available for his team's sold-out clash against the Brisbane Bullets on Sunday.

MVP hopeful Mitch Creek is likely to be available for his team's sold-out clash against the Brisbane Bullets on Sunday.

Creek copped a knock to the eye during the final quarter of South East Melbourne's defeat at the hands of Cairns, and was forced to sit out the remainder of the game. Despite concerns of a serious injury, the damage wasn't as bad as initially feared.

"Creek was taken to hospital following the match, where medical staff revealed that he had an abrasion to the sclera, the white part of the eye that helps protect the eye's delicate internal structures. He will need to rest the eye over the coming days before being reassessed later in the week," a statement on the club's website said

There's further good news on the injury front for the Phoenix, with Trey Kell (knee) and Gary Browne (calf) both hoping for a return this week.

The pair have missed two and five games respectively and will be welcomed with open arms, following four straight losses for Simon Mitchell's team.

The Phoenix have sold out their three upcoming fixtures at the State Basketball Centre, in what looms as a must-win stretch of games.
