The injury bug has once again bitten the Tasmania JackJumpers, with guard Sam McDaniel now confirmed to miss out on the upcoming NBL Blitz in Darwin

The injury bug has once again bitten the Tasmania JackJumpers, with guard Sam McDaniel now confirmed to miss the upcoming NBL Blitz in Darwin.

He joins Will Magnay and Clint Steindl on the team’s pre-season injury list due to a shoulder injury suffered while playing for the Hobart Chargers in NBL1 South.

“It’s not ideal at this time of year, but he’s (McDaniel) sore at the moment and he’ll miss the Blitz this week,” JackJumpers assistant coach Jacob Chance told The Mercury.

“He’s responding well and it’s in the initial stage of the injury where it’s just settling down … he’s moving around and shooting whereas last week he was pretty sore.”

After initially targeting a Round 1 return, Boomer Jack McVeigh is now set to take part in the Blitz for the JackJumpers after overcoming a shoulder injury of his own.

“[McVeigh] got through a full day [of practice] today and yesterday, and if he does the same tomorrow he’ll be good to go.”
