A return to Adelaide was always a possibility for now former Melbourne centre Isaac Humphries, who will once again suit up for the 36ers after a one-season with United.
The former Atlanta Hawk and 2018 NBL Rookie of the Year has re-signed with his former club on a one-year deal, after managing just six games in his most recent campaign with the side.
Having arrived in Melbourne with a goal to prove his body could cope with the rigours of professional basketball, the 25-year-old played 23 of a possible 28 games, and finished the season with a competition-leading 40 blocks over the course of the campaign.
“We made it very clear last year when I went to Melbourne that we weren’t going to burn the bridge and shut the door,” Humphries told the Adelaide 36ers’ website.
“When free agency started I went to my team and said ‘I’m interested in Adelaide’. We reached out and once there was mutual interest, we got it done.
“I didn’t take much convincing, but keeping in touch with CJ (Bruton) played a big part.”
The acquisition of Humphries wasn’t the only moving piece for the 36ers on Wednesday, as the Perth Wildcats announced Hyrum Harris would be joining them from Adelaide.
Anthony Drmic has also officially left the club this free agency period to join Tasmania, while Jason Cadee will return for a second stint of his own after leaving the Brisbane Bullets.
