Homeward Bound: Webster Signs With Otago for Off-Season

The Otago Nuggets’ relationship with the Perth Wildcats keeps going from strength to strength – and their signing of Perth guard Tai Webster to the NZNBL side is just the latest step in a long-standing partnership.

Webster will join the third-place Nuggets in the middle of June, just in time for their final five regular season games and likely post-season campaign.

The New Zealand-born guard will join Wildcats teammates Michael Harris and Jack Andrew on the side, along with team captain and uncontracted Breakers centre Sam Timmins.

The signing comes just weeks after Perth coach John Rillie travelled to New Zealand to spend some time with the side.

Webster’s eventual debut with the side will be his first appearance in the competition since a stint with the Waikato Pistons in 2013.

He made eight appearances for Perth in NBL23 after joining the club mid-season, before re-signing with the club for a further two seasons.
