Harvey not recruiting Clark

Tyler Harvey has discussed Gary Clark's potential return to the Illawarra Hawks.

While Illawarra Hawks leader Tyler Harvey would love star import Gary Clark to return, he isn’t playing the role of recruiter.

Harvey has committed to the Hawks for a further three seasons, but Clark remains on the free agency market.

Clark was a member of the All-NBL First Team last season, playing a vital role in Illawarra’s charge up the ladder, averaging 16.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

As Harvey prepares for the new campaign, he is leaving the pitching and recruiting efforts to the front office.

“I'll never push and call a guy… I love Gary, but at the end of the day, Gary has to do what's best for him,” Harvey told the Illawarra Mercury.

“I know he enjoyed it here, but that's Mat (Campbell) and JT's (Justin Tatum) job, to find the pieces to help keep this team on an upward trajectory.”
