Illawarra could lose yet another player to a significant injury, after Michael Frazier left the court with an arm issue on Friday night.

Frazier hurt his left arm in what looked to be an innocuous collision with two Adelaide 36ers’ players late in the first quarter, and after playing out the final seconds of the term, never returned to the court.

"I've just spoken to Jacob Jackomas, he was just shaking his head and couldn't believe it ... but Michael Frazier has sustained an arm injury there in the that first quarter and will not take part in the remainder of the game," commentator John Casey said, ahead of the second half,

While the severity of the injury is still to be revealed, it looms as another bitter blow for the luckless Hawks.

“I’m going to take the high road and hope he’s going to be OK,” coach Jacob Jackomas said post-game.

“It was another bad one. It’s something to do with his arm, I’m not too sure.

“I really hope he can recover, but I’m gutted for him.”

Peyton Siva (shoulder), Justin Robinson (knee) and George King (ankle) have already suffered serious, season-ending injuries this season, with Frazier adding further salt to the wounds.

He’d scored 11 points in eight minutes of action against the 36ers, before sitting out the final three quarters, following the incident.

“There’s been multiple guys in our team that have been hurt, and I’m guttered for all those guys,” Jackomas said.

“It starts with Justin (Robinson), George (King), Michael (Frazier) … I’m hoping he can recover, because he has come into this environment and just seamlessly fit in and has been great for us.”

Illawarra battled bravely in enemy territory, taking it up to Adelaide from the get-go, but ultimately fell short by eight points in front of over 9,000 fans.
