Adelaide guard Sunday Dech is confident the 36ers will finish the season strong with championship winner Ian Clark settled into the line-up.
After winning last season’s Grand Final with the Sydney Kings, Clark has played two games for the 36ers since joining the club last month.
Dech believes Clark’s experience will help the 36ers hopefully win majority of their remaining nine games, adding his impact has already been felt.
“He’s won a championship with Sydney last year and we’re hoping that he brings that experience with him this year and obviously going forward,” Dech said.
“He’s been able to fit in seamlessly, they’re building up his minutes game by game. Being such a veteran and a true professional, he’s just fit into the team and contributed.
“Very vocal, something that we needed. A different voice and a different perspective, an experienced voice. We’re really grateful to have him, after games, in huddles, in timeouts he’s always very vocal at the highest level.
“(His) fitness is getting much better, I think each game he’s built. He’s got his legs under him, he’s very vocal, he’s a great teammate and someone that we’re excited to have play these next nine regular season games with and leading into finals is a big key for us.”
The 36ers are seventh on the ladder with a 10-9 record and are determined to end the season with a bang.
“For us every game is a must win right now, we’ve got a one game at a time mentality. Since before the last game we were on a roll, and we want to get back to that winning feeling and rolling again,” Dech said.
“We have nine games left and we want to win them all, whether we will or won’t we don’t know yet, but the best we can do is to come into practice every day and be the best that we can and come game time, be the best that we can be.”
The 36ers host the Illawarra Hawks on Friday night at 7:30pm AEDT.
