Cotton says 'bring on the challenge'

"It’s my job to try to figure out what I need to do to get back to being who I am."

Perth Wildcats superstar Bryce Cotton is keeping a positive mindset, amidst a sea of frustration surrounding the club.

Cotton is taking the blame for Perth’s 2-4 start, with the three-time MVP averaging just 15.2 points on 32.2 percent shooting.

Ahead of a must-win clash with the Bullets on Friday night, Cotton says only one person can get him out of the form slump – himself.

“It’s definitely a challenge. I’m not a stranger to those. I don’t back down from them. I keep telling myself if anyone can get out of this, you can do it,” Cotton told the media, via The West Australian.

“I don’t know what it is. I haven’t been in this position before. It’s the worst start I’ve had since I came to this league and we’re 2-4 as well.

“I feel my lack of playing to my standard is a big part of that, so I wear that pretty heavily right now. It’s my job to try to figure out what I need to do to get back to being who I am.

“I don’t make any excuses. I just acknowledge that I’m playing well below my standard and we’re not doing well as a team. I think I’m a big reason for that.”

Earlier this week Cotton told Channel 10 he has shouldered the blame for the club’s underwhelming start.
