Core quartet signs on with Bullets

Wednesday, April 10, 2024
Tyrell Harrison is among four key signings for the Brisbane Bullets.
The Brisbane Bullets have announced the return of Tyrell Harrison, Casey Prather, Mitch Norton and Isaac White for the NBL25 season, after the core quartet each had their contract options exercised ahead of next season.
Harrison established himself as one of the top local centers in the competition across a breakout NBL24, in which the star seven-footer shook off an injury-hit NBL23 to establish himself as the Bullets’ starting big.
Prather only arrived at the Bullets mid-way through the campaign, following a season-ending hip injury suffered by fellow forward DJ Mitchell.
The former All-NBL First Team nominee and three-time champion came back to the NBL after a stint in Israel, where a pair of serious knee injuries kept him sidelined for two years. The 32-year-old averaged 6.7 points per game across seven appearances in NBL24.
White arrived at the club ahead of NBL24 off the back of a season at the Tasmania JackJumpers in which is contract was upgraded from nominated replacement player to development player under Scott Roth, and he averaged a career-high seven points per game, across 28 appearances this campaign.
Norton has not only elected to accept his player option heading into next season, but has also extended his contract for a further two years to the end of NBL27.
The veteran guard was released by the Perth Wildcats following an NBL23 campaign in which he slid down the bench, but he established himself as one of Schueller’s go-to defensive stalwarts in his debut Bullets campaign.
Schueller says he’s excited to see the Bullets build out from its core ahead of NBL25.
“It’s an exciting period for our club as we now build onto the foundation we have laid, and locking in key pieces was important for who we want to be,” Schueller said.
“’Norto’ showed time and time again how important his play and leadership was to our group. For him to pick up his option and extend is a great sign of the direction we are going as a ball club.
“Tyrell showed last season why we believe in him moving forward, and we are excited for his continued growth.
“Casey is a winner, and we are excited for him to be back to the level he is used to playing in this league and having him is a key part of our success moving forward.
“Isaac is one of the hardest working athletes we have seen and we are excited for his production with more opportunity.”
The recommitted quartet has joined Josh Bannan, Sam McDaniel and Rocco Zikarsky as being under contract for next season.
