Could a Melbourne United star be returning in NBL25?

Melbourne United and Ian Clark share a “mutual interest” to continue their partnership according to Peter Hooley.

Clark was a weapon off the bench for United last season, winning the Best Sixth Man award while amassing 13.6 points per game.

The 33-year-old remains on the free agency market but discussions between him and Melbourne are ongoing.

“There is mutual interest on both sides to try and return for NBL25. We know he is very hotly sought after around the rest of the league,” Hooley said of Clark and United.

Melbourne coach Dean Vickerman echoed that report, but told Newscorp the two parties still need to work through some elements of a potential new deal.

“We have to align and both sides have to be happy with the role, the money, all those kind of things, but the skillset we’re looking for and the person off the court he is, is who we want,” Vickerman said.

United’s season begins on Thursday September 19 against the Tasmania JackJumpers at HoopsFest in Perth.
