Can Adelaide be trusted?

Can Adelaide be trusted?

"They look locked-in defensively...there was pride there."

The big question for Adelaide right now is whether it can back up the defensive intensity shown against Sydney and Melbourne.

Former NBL champion, Peter Hooley, noticed a change in the 36ers’ mindset since their recent crisis meeting.

"They look locked in defensively,” Hooley said on NBL Overtime.

"There was pride there, they were really locked in."

After conquering the 2nd and 3rd placed United and Kings, Adelaide now has the opportunity to go after a top 6 finish.

But another former NBL champion, Damon Lowery, isn’t convinced Mike Wells’ playing group has what it takes and wants more evidence.

"I’m not ready to trust them just yet for a championship because they always need somebody to go at," he said.

"I feel like they’ll still be a Playoff team, but a championship (team), I’m not quite sure."

The 36ers head to an unhappy hunting ground in MyState Bank Arena to play the JackJumpers on Friday night - where they haven’t won since 2021.
