Cameron praises United's "winning culture"

Thursday, May 9, 2024
Flynn Cameron is set to build on a successful rookie campaign with Melbourne United.
Flynn Cameron has already been earmarked to take on a bigger role for Melbourne United in NBL24, and the New Zealand guard believes his side will once again compete for the title in NBL25.
Cameron represented United 31 times in his rookie campaign, and found himself playing a supporting role to the high-calibre guard rotation of Matthew Dellavedova, Shea Ili, Chris Goulding and Ian Clark.
After playing in every game of United’s regular season campaign, he found minutes hard to come by as Dean Vickerman shortened his rotation for the post-season, but Cameron says he has plenty of positives to take from his first professional season.
“I learnt a lot in my first year,” Cameron told Melbourne United Media.
“Just the day-to-day habits of what it takes to be a pro. Watching and playing with guys like ‘Shili’ (Shea Ili) and ‘Delly’ (Matthew Dellavedova). Seeing how they operate, what they’re seeing on the floor, it’s helped me get better.
“In the end, we were two-points short of the goal, and that’s something that I look at and think ‘we’re almost there’.
“I’m super happy to be a part of Melbourne United. There’s a winning culture here, this is a team that is capable of getting it done and we want to show that when we’re all back next season.”
