Bullets to launch “independent review”

Thursday, February 6, 2025

"Due to the significant spike in our injuries and the impact that that’s had on our results, we’re going to bring in an independent party to review that."

Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts has revealed the club will “bring in an independent party to review” the mass injury list that has derailed Brisbane’s season.

As the Bullets are set to miss Finals for the sixth straight season, key players James Batemon, Josh Bannan, Tyrell Harrison, Sam McDaniel, Rocco Zikarsky, Deng Adel, Emmett Naar and Jarred Bairstow have all missed significant patches of the campaign.

It will potentially lead to an offseason of changes in Brisbane.

“We do a review every season but, due to the significant spike in our injuries and the impact that that’s had on our results, we’re going to bring in an independent party to review that and then use those learnings to make decisions for the betterment of the club moving forward,” Watts told Newscorp.

The Bullets end their season tonight against the Cairns Taipans at 7:30pm AEDT live on ESPN.
