More than 500 NBA games, 550-plus NBL appearances - the Brisbane Bullets' new leadership group is brimming with experience and desperate to guide their team back to the top of the ladder.

Nathan Sobey, Aron Baynes and Mitch Norton were selected by their teammates and coaches to lead the Bullets forward, with Sobey's tenth season in the league coinciding with his first as Brisbane captain.

All three have vast experience, both locally and internationally, having each represented Australia on numerous occasions.

“It means a lot first and foremost,” Sobey said of the honour.

“Being able to be one of the leaders of a foundation club with so much history and so many NBL legends is really special.

“To be able to have that role and represent the club means so much.”

Sobey has played arguably the best basketball of his career since joining the Bullets in 2019, and fellow veteran Mitch Norton will be hoping to do the same, after stints with Townsville, Illawarra and as a two-time champion in Perth.

The Bullets retained just five players from their NBL23 roster heading into a new season and brought in new coach Justin Schueller, as they look to bounce back from a ninth-placed finish.
