Browne Avoids Serious Injury

South East Melbourne Phoenix import Gary Browne has avoided serious injury, with scans on his knee revealing only minor damage.

Browne sustained a grade one strain of his medial ligament, after leaving the court in the opening minutes of the game against the Sydney Kings in Darwin on Wednesday. 

There were initial fears he'd seriously hurt himself, but the 29-year-old could be back as soon as Round 2 of the regular season, the club's website reports.
