New Zealand Breakers star guard Barry Brown Jr is managing his hand injury ahead of Game 1 of the Championship Series next Friday.

New Zealand Breakers star guard Barry Brown Jr is managing his hand injury ahead of Game 1 of the Championship Series next Friday.

Brown Jr played through a broken hand during the Playoff Series against the Tasmanina JackJumpers, and was still able to score 32 points in the decisive Game 3.

Brown Jr has been a key part of the Breakers’ resurgence this season, and reiterated his injury was one he had to “fight through” with the title on the line.

"It's just one of those things you've got to fight through," he told Newshub

"[I'm] just trying to limit some of my reps on certain days, just trying to limit impact and stuff like that.”

With time to rest and recover due to the FIBA break, Brown Jr and his team are preparing for the first of their best-of-five-game series against the Sydney Kings.
