Everyone at the Brisbane Bullets will be under review in the offseason, with CEO Peter McLennan including himself in the mix.

Everyone at the Brisbane Bullets will be under review in the offseason, with CEO Peter McLennan including himself in the mix.

A 5-16 record and ninth position at the back end of the season is not what the Bullets imagined when putting together a roster full of veterans and former NBA stars.

McLennan acknowledged the club is not where they aimed to be, and with reviews by the ownership group set to commence after the season, no one is safe.

“Everyone is going to be reviewed, everyone has to be,” McLennan said.

“We know where we are, and that’s not okay where we are. You can’t say we’re just going to roll over and do the same thing.

“We need the owners to have a good look at us.

“We know where we are, we’re not shying away from that, we’re putting things in place today to make us better for tomorrow. Everyone is going to be reviewed, everybody.”

The Bullets have suffered disappointments all season, with their most recent a 49-point loss to the Sydney Kings. McLennan has put his foot down and demanded change for the club.

“No one’s satisfied where we are, we need to keep evolving and challenging ourselves to be better,” McLennan said.

“Our performance and our product is on court, sometimes when you make a change that has been made, the notion of that change can create the perception that you’ve lost your way. The reality is that’s not the case.

“Our business model has never been stronger, but our product needs to improve.”

Bullets' big man and Australian great Aron Baynes has stated he wants to get back to the NBA, hoping the NBL is his pathway to do so.

McLennan mentioned how the recently appointed Stu Lash, an experienced businessman with knowledge and contacts within the NBA, can help Baynes return to the States.

Lash served as Director of Player Personnel and Basketball Development in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies, having also worked for the Denver Nuggets prior. He has joined the Bullets as a Senior Basketball Advisor.

“We know where we are with Baynesy. Baynesy is here for another season,” McLennan said.

“Stu enables that (a chance for Aron to get back to the NBA) not many other NBL teams can do that. Baynesy should be viewing Stu as a possibility to talk to people over there (in America).

“I’d love to see him get back into the NBA. It will hurt us, but we want to see him get there and be a part of that process if we can help that, and I think Stu can potentially help.”
