Alex Starling's greatest teacher

Wednesday, May 1, 2024
Alex Starling says his experiences through NBL24 will hold him in good stead heading into his sophomore season with the Adelaide 36ers.
Alex Starling had to wait for his opportunity to play elite level sport for a decade. Now, his initial one-year deal with the Adelaide 36ers has been extended for a further season.
The 35-year-old forward has spent years endearing himself to the South Australian basketball public through his strong performances in NBL1 Central, and he’s ready to take another leap forward in his second campaign at NBL level.
Starling averaged 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds across his maiden campaign for Adelaide, and he believes his experiences through last season are set to see him improve in NBL25.
“Experience is life’s greatest teacher and going through the process, the ins and outs, the trainings, the travel, everything was new,” Starling told 36ers Media.
“To know how that all works now and to experience that, what worked well and what didn’t work well, I’ll be on top of that heading into the next season.”
