The Adelaide 36ers have signed Lat Mayen on a one-year contract.

The Adelaide 36ers have secured the services of a hometown hero and have signed former Cairns forward Lat Mayen to a one-year deal.

Mayen grew up in Adelaide after arriving in Australia from South Sudan as a child, and had previously represented the Taipans for the entirety of his professional career to date.

The 25-year-old experiences something of a breakout campaign in NBL24 and hit a memorable three-point game-winner against the Illawarra Hawks in Round 18.

He shot a remarkable 48.6 per cent from the field and 40.3 per cent from three across the NBL24 campaign.

“I have always said I like to have that local flavour at the 36ers, and it’s exciting to have another South Australian now on the roster,” Adelaide head coach Scott Ninnis said.

“Lat has shown in Cairns he can play multiple roles and his ability to play at both ends of the floor is going to be a great benefit for us moving forward.”

Mayen joins DJ Vasiljevic, Isaac Humphries, Nick Marshall, Sunday Dech and Jason Cadee as contracted players for the NBL25 season.
