Adel secures NBL return

Monday, April 15, 2024
Former Cleveland Cavalier and Illawarra Hawk Deng Adel has signed a one-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets.
The Brisbane Bullets have officially added the talents of athletic wing, Deng Adel to their NBL25 roster on a one-year deal.
Adel played a total of 19 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2019 NBA season, and is a recognizable talent for NBL fans, having represented the Illawarra Hawks during the NBL21 season.
The South Sudanese-born local talent’s career has taken him all over the world since that previous stint in Illawarra, and he has played in the NBA G-League, Canada, Denmark, Bulgaria and France ahead of his return.
He averaged 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game across 23 appearances in his sole season with Illawarra.
“We had a clear focus to bring in more athleticism and versatility to our roster and Deng is the perfect player to help us in these areas,” head coach Justin Schueller said.
“He is a talent of the highest level, and we are excited to welcome him back to the NBL.”
Adel’s announcement comes after news that reigning club MVP Nathan Sobey will represent the South East Melbourne Phoenix next season.
Adel joins Josh Bannan, Tyrell Harrison, Sam McDaniel, Mitch Norton, Casey Prather, Isaac White and Rocco Zikarsky on the Bullets roster for NBL25.
