Adams could be NBL’s biggest name

Two-time NBL MVP Kevin Lisch says Sydney Kings superstar Jaylen Adams could be one of the biggest names the league has ever seen.

Adams won the MVP this season after averaging 20.1 points, 6.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds, while leading the Kings to the Grand Final series.

Lisch, who is an assistant coach with Sydney and sees Adams work daily, believes the 25-year-old is a special talent.

“He really has the (whole) package...both on and off the court,” Lisch told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“He’s got the ability to be one of the biggest names the NBL’s ever had - I mean he’s that good.”

Kings CEO Chris Pongrass has also revealed the club is keen on bringing Adams back next season, if he doesn’t land an NBA contract.

“There is an intent from everyone on our side to re-sign Jaylen, and yes, we believe there is a chance,” Pongrass told Newscorp.

“Understandably he wants to get back to the NBA and we hope he gets there - his play this year has dictated that he’s an NBA talent without question.

“However, if he doesn’t sign in the NBA, we expect to be in a prime position to bring him back.”

Adams and the Kings host the Tasmania JackJumpers in Game 1 of the best-of-five Grand Final series on Friday night at 7:30pm AEST. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN and Kayo Freebies.
