With 14 games remaining in the season for the Adelaide 36ers, shooting guard Sunday Dech believes a new chapter has begun for the South Australian side.
The 36ers are positioned 7th on the ladder with a 6-8 record, just outside of the play-in qualification.
Dech is hoping his team can end the rollercoaster nature of their season, which has included import changes and inconsistent form, with their upcoming four game home stand.
“At the end of the day, we still have 14 more games and for us is to re-setting, getting a fresh start and having this week to prepare has really helped us a lot,” Dech said.
“Has to be (one game at a time), to turn the page a bit, we are on a losing streak which we are not happy about.
“We have been on the road a little bit so it’s good to be here for an extended time to get ready for Brisbane.”
Dech mentioned the 36ers have worked hard in training this week to fix mistakes made in their previous games ahead of their battle with a rocky Bullets outfit.
Despite Brisbane having a drama-filled week with another coaching change, Dech is on guard, saying it has seen them develop a ‘nothing to lose’ mindset.
“There is nothing more dangerous than a side that have their backs against the wall and have a nothing to lose mentality,” Dech said.
“There has been a fair bit going on up there in Brisbane, but I assume this is something that galvanises the group and they will be ready to fire.”
Optimism is high for Adelaide with a new take on the rest of the season, and they take on Brisbane on Saturday night at 8:00pm AEDT.
