United star to miss Game 3

Melbourne United's Shea Ili will not suit up in Game 3 due to concussion protocols.

Defensive Player of the Year, Shea Ili will miss Melbourne United's Game 3 of the Championship Series against the Illawarra Hawks on Sunday.

Ili suffered a head knock in the second quarter of Game 2 on Wednesday night, and was out for the remainder of the game after head coach Dean Vickerman stated, “with the history, we didn’t feel like it was the right thing to put him back out there."

Despite passing concussion tests both on the night of Game 2 and the following days after, United's medical staff have placed him in concussion protocols - resulting in the star guard to miss Sunday evening's clash.

Ili’s availability for Game 4 will be dependent on meeting the return to play criteria of both the NBL and Melbourne United.
