Two-time champion back in Sydney

Monday, August 26, 2024
Jaylin Galloway is set to return to the Sydney Kings, signing a three-year deal with the club.
The Sydney Kings' NBL25 roster continues to get stronger, with confirmation the club has re-signed Jaylin Galloway on a newly negotiated three-year deal.
The 21-year-old signed a two-way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks in March, playing seven games with the Wisconsin Herd and lining up in the NBA's Summer League, before he was waived.
At the same time as committing to the two-way deal, he signed an extension with the Kings.
Galloway had a career-best year with the Kings in the NBL24 season, averaging 10.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals a game, logging close to 23 minutes per appearance.
"I'm super excited to be back at the Kings - a club that was my first as a professional and a place I consider a second home," Galloway said.
"We've had plenty of success during my first four seasons in Sydney and I look forward to continuing that this season."
Galloway said he took a lot from his experience in the US.
"I learnt plenty during my time in the US, especially trying to stay humble and continuing to learn each and every day, especially from the older guys around you," he continued.
"Playing against that sort of competition each day has made me physically stronger and helped my jump shot become more consistent."
Sydney boasts one of the best squads in the league, with a starting lineup featuring Jaylen Adams, Bul Kuol, Xavier Cooks, Cam Oliver and Alex Toohey.
"Adding a piece like Jaylin this late in the piece is a pleasant and unexpected surprise that everyone is pumped about," Goorjian said.
"He's obviously a tremendous player, that complements the guys already on our team - not to mention he's very well-liked by everyone at our club.
"His ability to attack the rim as an athlete and be a perimeter threat is exciting and adds a different look to our group, not to mention the way he can defend and play multiple positions.
"I have no doubts he's improved since spending time in the US and I'm excited to see him back in the Kings uniform."
Sydney takes on New Zealand on Friday night in its first pre-season game for NBL25.
