The player: Jack White (F) MEL $365,100
The moment: Owners of Jack White were holding their breath after the Melbourne United forward went down with a calf injury in the second quarter against the Perth Wildcats. Luckily White had already recorded 46 SuperCoach points in the previous game against the Brisbane Bullets and his first half efforts were worth 16 SuperCoach points, bringing his Round 8 total to a respectable 62. This injury may be the perfect time to trade White out of your SuperCoach team.
The player: Rob Loe (F/C) MEL $202,700
The moment: Rob Loe may have had one of the most unexpected 30-point games in recent NBL history, literally shooting the lights out in Brisbane. The Melbourne United big man splashed six three-pointers on his way to 43 SuperCoach points before backing that up with 24 SuperCoach points against the Perth Wildcats. Loe finished Round 8 with 67 SuperCoach points, the equal second-highest of the round.
The player: Tyrell Harrison (C) BRI $327,600
The moment: Round 8 will be one to forget for Tyrell Harrison owners. With the Brisbane Bullets' big man only scoring 18 SuperCoach points for the round. Owners will be hoping Harrison returns to his previous form, having had 20 rebounds in the game prior. With a run of double games, Harrison remains a prime trade target.
The player: Milton Doyle (G) TAS $68,900
The moment: Owners of Milton Doyle had an inconsistent Round 8. In the loss to the Perth Wildcats, Doyle kept the JackJumpers within reach, with a 30-point performance for a game-high 41 SuperCoach points. However, he couldn’t follow this up in a win against the New Zealand Breakers, with a season-low three points on his way to only 13 SuperCoach points.
The player: Jaylen Adams (G) SYD $312,000
The moment: Looking more like his former MVP self. Jaylen Adams was the hero of the Sydney Kings’ win over the South East Melbourne Phoenix. After trailing for most of the game, Adams had 12 fourth-quarter points on his way to a game-high 20. After subbing in for Shaun Bruce, Adams took over the game and led the Kings to a five-point victory. Adams ended the game with team-high 40 SuperCoach points.
The player: Izan Almansa (F/C) PER $154,000
The moment: Izan Almansa had the best performance of his short NBL career to date. The Next Star got the start over Keanu Pinder against Melbourne United and made the most of it. Almansa had an impressive 19 points to go with seven, rebounds on his way to 28 SuperCoach points. Almansa should be a prime trade target with Perth’s upcoming favourable schedule and Bryce Cotton’s injury status unknown.
The player: Chris Goulding (G) MEL $261,200
The moment: Chris Goulding had one of the best quarters in modern NBL history against the Perth Wildcats in Round 8. Goulding scored 46 points in one of the greatest shooting displays ever seen in the NBL, tying for third all-time since the return to the 40-minute era and scoring 25 in the third quarter. The nine per cent of SuperCoaches with Goulding in their line up celebrated his first 30+ SuperCoach point game for the season, ending the weekend with a round-high of 82 SuperCoach points.
The player: Kendric Davis (G) ADL $401,400
The moment: Kendric Davis is the latest player to hit the 400k+ price point for SuperCoach NBL25, joining Adelaide 36ers teammate Montrezl Harrell and New Zealand Breaker Parker Jackson-Cartwright. Davis was instrumental in a big win against the Illawarra Hawks, picking up 16 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in a 93-79 win – ending the round with 48 SuperCoach points. When the 36ers' schedule improves, these superstars are going to take up a lot of your salary.
