Sobey slams former team

Nathan Sobey has labelled Justin Schueller's comments around his culture fit at the Bullets as "pretty average".

Former Brisbane guard Nathan Sobey has fired a parting shot at former head coach Justin Schueller, following the Bullets' coach’s intimations that he doesn’t fit in with the club’s new cultural direction, in an interview with SENQ.

Schueller had been lauded for turning the Bullets organisation around in his first season in charge. The rookie head coach led his side to a seventh-placed finish this past season and missed out on the post-season on percentage alone.

“I don’t agree with it and I think it’s pretty average, but I’ll let my basketball do the talking,” Sobey told News Corp.

“You don’t expect that, being a pretty long-time servant of the club and always trying to improve in every way I can, individually and as a team. It’s disappointing to see stuff like that.

“That’s not what I’m about, throwing people under the bus.”

Sobey is expected to sign with the South East Melbourne Phoenix once NBL free agency officially opens.
