Marcus Lee will not return to the Tasmania JackJumpers following a solitary season with the club.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have announced their second roster change in as many days, with import center Marcus Lee being advised his contract will not be renewed for NBL25 and beyond.

Lee arrived at the club ahead of the championship winning NBL24 season following a half-season stint at Melbourne United in NBL23, after which he was named United’s Defensive Player of the Year.

He started 32 of the 34 games in which he played for Tasmania this season and formed a deadly center duo with Will Magnay.

Unfortunately, a knee injury prevented him from taking to the court in the final two games of Tasmania’s season.

“Marcus was a fantastic contributor to our club this season, we’ve loved having both him and Amber in Tasmania and thank them for everything they’ve done for the club,” CEO Christine Finnegan said.

“We wish Marcus and Amber the very best for their future. They have so much to look forward to, especially their long-awaited wedding in July and we wish them every happiness for the special day.”

Lee averaged 6.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in his stint with Tasmania.

The JackJumpers had previously announced the departure of Jarred Bairstow.
