Kings prioritise Hunter signing

Sydney CEO Chris Pongrass says re-signing Jordan Hunter is a "priority" for the Kings this off-season.

Jordan Hunter has been described as the “fabric” of the Sydney Kings, however club CEO Chris Pongrass has declared there is a chance the fan-favourite local center could depart the club in the upcoming NBL free agency period.

Hunter has played his entire NBL career with the Kings and was crucial to the side’s NBL23 championship. He has just signed with Latvian side Rigas Zelli in the Latvian-Estonian League for the off-season.

"He is a priority in terms of wanting him back if the opportunity arises, but I also understand internationally and within the NBL, and I’m sure there are people that are going to see Jordi as a crucial piece," Kings CEO Chris Pongrass told News Corp.

"With that comes some challenges when you are trying to re-recruit someone like Jordi back to the club.

"He is a great kid and someone who we’d love to see remain at the club, but if it doesn’t fall that way, that’s basketball."
