Brisbane Bullet Josh Bannan will make his comeback from an ankle injury, having last played on November 17.

After more than a month on the sidelines, Brisbane big Josh Bannan is set to return on Friday night against Cairns.

Bannan will make his comeback from an ankle injury, having last played in the NBL on November 17.

“Banno will be good to go,” Bullets coach Justin Schueller told Code Sports.

“We haven’t really dug our heels into it (Bannan coming off the bench) yet, but it’s where my gut goes, initially.”

The Bullets are also set to welcome back Deng Adel in the short term, with January 4 a target date for the 27-year-old.

Like Bannan, Adel last played on November 17, with a significant stint out due to a hand injury.

Brisbane has performed strongly in recent weeks and was on the verge of an upset against Sydney on Sunday, before succumbing to a 27-8 final quarter.

That came off the back of impressive wins against Melbourne United and South East Melbourne.

“Four in nine days was always going to catch up to us at some point but, yeah, that said, we felt like we were the better team for large stretches on the day and that gives us a positivity for once we get everyone back.”
