“I’m a lottery player”: Henshall

Wednesday, February 19, 2025

"I think I'm a lottery player, I think I'm better than a lot of guys that are in this Draft."

Perth Wildcats youngster Ben Henshall has declared he is one of the best players in the 2025 NBA Draft class.

Speaking to 10 News Perth, the 20-year-old wasn’t short on confidence when discussing his draft prospects as he prepares to head to America at the conclusion of the NBL season.

"I think I'm a lottery player, I think I'm better than a lot of guys that are in this Draft,” Henshall said.

"I'm playing in a professional team against guys who have been in the NBA."

Henshall has appeared on some expert’s draft boards as a late second round pick but a strong NBL Finals campaign and pre-draft workouts with NBA teams could see his stock increase.

The talented guard added playing alongside five-time MVP Bryce Cotton has advanced his progression and development immensely.

"I'd say having a guy like that has been huge for me, especially in my position. He's been to the NBA, is best player in the NBL, and is a great guy who wants the best for me,” Henshall said.

"We've had multiple chats about how he sees his mentality in me where like, I want to score the ball.”

Henshall and the Wildcats begin their Playoff series against Melbourne United on Thursday, February 27.
