Harrell commits to 36ers

Friday, October 18, 2024
Montrezl Harrell will remain with the Adelaide 36ers for the remainder of NBL25.
The rumours are true – superstar Adelaide 36ers signing Montrezl Harrell will remain with the club for the rest of the season.
Harrell was brought into the club as an injury replacement player for Jarell Martin but will now stay in Adelaide for the season, after the club confirmed his deal on Friday afternoon.
“The organisation has shown nothing but love for me ever since I have arrived here and I’m excited to see what we can do this season,” Harrell said.
“We have been showing some great improvement recently, and we need to keep building now and moving forward.”

Alex Starling was released to make way for Harrell. The Sixers and Starling are in discussions for him to possibly continue to be employed at the club in an off-court role.
Harrell has notched four double-doubles in his six games for the 36ers, averaging 15.7 points and 10.3 rebounds.
His end goal is to return to the NBA, where his last stint was with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2023, and a strong campaign in the NBL could score him that return ticket.
Adelaide Executive Chairman Grant Kelley described Harrell's signing as a coup for the entire league.
“Trez is a great signing for not only for 36er fans, members, and sponsors, but also for Aussie hoops fans generally, further entrenching the NBL’s reputation as the second-best league in the world,” Kelley said.
