Bullets prepare for happy homecoming

Thursday, October 3, 2024

“If we stick to who we are ... it will take care of itself."

The Brisbane Bullets are headed back to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for the first time since 2019 on Saturday night, and a first win for NBL25 would be the perfect homecoming.

That's easier said than done though, facing one of the premier teams in the competition - the Sydney Kings.

A 0-2 start to the season has been far from ideal for the Bullets, but Tyrell Harrison, who just signed a two-year extension with the club, believes his team is ready to bounce back.

“If we stick to who we are, what we keep priding ourselves on – the style of play – it will take care of itself,” Harrison said via NewsCorp.

The Bullets had a strong pre-season, as the winners of the Loggins-Bruton Cup at the Blitz on the Gold Coast in early September, but have fallen short in the first two rounds of the new season.

Back at a venue the club's fans hold dear, Harrison said it's a matter of 'control the controllables' against a star-studded Kings lineup.

“It’s going back to individual scout, taking away what they like to do, trying to control them as best as we can, ramp up the physicality, go back to our style of play, and really trying to control the game,” he said.

Tip-off between the Bullets and Kings is 8pm AEDT on Saturday night, live on ESPN via Kayo.
