Blanchfield Builds as Wildcats Claw Back

Wednesday, November 23, 2022
With over 350 games to his name, Todd Blanchfield boasts quite the NBL resume.
With over 350 games to his name, Todd Blanchfield boasts quite the NBL resume.
In many ways, he's a player that's simply gotten better with age.
He racked up career-high numbers at the age of 29, and now, at 31, he's still very much at the peak of his powers.
But NBL23 hasn't gone all Blanchfield's, or Perth's way.
“I obviously haven’t had the start of the season I would’ve liked,” he said.
“I’m really starting to find my feet again. I’m the first one to say I’ve just had a little bit of a slow start.”
Blanchfield's recent form revival has coincided with his team's rise. After five straight losses, the Wildcats have bounced back with two wins.
There's still a long way to go, but is the tide beginning to turn?
“It’s a long season and I feel like coming into training now, we put in too much work every day for it not to turnaround. Hopefully going forward, I can continue to build on that and hope to contribute to more wins,” Blanchfield said.

It will be a special night in Perth on Thursday as the Wildcats try to secure a win in their annual Pink Game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
“I’ve been a part of a few of them now and it’s a really special night,” Blanchfield added.
“To see the Red Army turn pink is a pretty special environment. To have them (Breast Cancer Care CEO Zoe McAlpine and team) come in and listen to some of their stories and hear them speak last week was really special.
“To see everyone in pink and really get behind such a great organisation and such a great thing is really special to see.
“So you always find that extra gear to get up and about for it.
“We can just be out there helping raise money for a great cause and the contribution that we give them, I’m happy to be a part of it.”
RAC Arena will turn pink on Thursday night as Perth takes on the Adelaide 36ers from 9:30pm AEDT.
