All teams treated same: Kestelman

All teams treated same: Kestelman

“I haven’t done anything for him to feel that I’m treating him any better or worse than anyone else."

NBL owner Larry Kestelman has declared every team is treated the same in the wake of recent comments from Tasmania JackJumpers coach Scott Roth.

Last month Roth was heard saying “it’s Larry Kestelman’s f***ing league” during a game, while after Tuesday night’s loss Roth said “I can’t say very much, we’re owned by the NBL” when voicing his frustrations about the referees.

Despite the comments from the championship coach, Kestelman has told Newscorp he has not spoken to Roth.

“His perception is that the league, somehow, maybe, is being harsher on him or his team for whatever reason. I have no idea why, but I can tell you it’s not fact,” Kestelman said.

“I think it’s his challenge. I’m not talking to him about it, it’s not my conversation to have. I don’t deal with coaches. It’s not my job. I haven’t done anything for him to feel that I’m treating him any better or worse than anyone else. I treat every team the same.”

The JackJumpers host the Adelaide 36ers tonight in a Summer Shootout game at 7:30pm AEDT live on ESPN.
